This area shows you a personal selection of restaurants we have liked. We'll give you a personal rating, but as said, it's "personal", so you might not agree...
It's very difficult to find a bad restaurant in France. The French take their food very serious, and a bad restaurant will not be in business for very long.
There are two very good food guides available to you;
The Michelin Red Book is the most famous (Attention: This guide is mostly in French ! But it uses pictograms for all restaurants, so easy to understand). All restaurants that we list on this site and that are also in the Michelin Red Guide, will have the corresponding page number displayed (and their Michelin rating).
Michelin also offer a great web site where you can plan your trip. It includes itinerary preparation, restaurants, hotels and maps. {link}
The other food guide is the Gault-Millau book. Both not only show you the good (or great) restaurants, but also places to sleep and see.
Many people come the France equipped with one of these guides, and use the guide to trek around the country, going from restaurant to restaurant. A real gastronomic holiday. You can always lose the weight when you come back home...
The restaurants listed here can also be found in each city section on this site. In the middle of each city page, you'll find the restaurants we have visited.
