Dieppe is a very large city, and includes a commercial harbor (and North Sea ferries), a pleasure boat harbor and several shopping streets. Alongside the harbor promenade there are a large variety of restaurants. The city is dominated by an old castle overlooking the city {link}.

During July and August, on the beach, there's a special hut from the local government, that has comfortable chairs, shade and lots of books you can borrow (for free). They even have English books on loan. The read-a-book-on-the-beach is called "Lire A La Plage". More info, click here (in French).

NOTE: Once a year, mid August, Dieppe hosts an international kite flying competition. {link}
