Lower Normandy (Normandie Basse) is a far more busy and touristy area. The three coastal cities, Honlfeur, Deauville and Trouville are the main cities the Parisians migrate to during summers and holidays. So you can expect a lot of people there.

Most of the WWII cemeteries are to be found here, as well as a lot of WWII battlefields & monuments.

On the South side of this area is Bretagne (Brittany).

Lower Normandy is divided in to three departements; Calvados, Manche & Orne . On some 18 thousand square kilometers there are 1.5 million inhabitants.
