Description:
Every four to five year, Rouen hosts the "Grande Armada", a 10 day festival centered around sailboats. Ships from all over the world come to this spectacular event.
Some 8 million people attended the Armada, and on Sunday 6 July 2003, the 32 off boats set off to the ocean. The Seine river was packed with 2 million people to look at the spectacle. It takes about 4 hours for all the ships to pass by.
